ACTION NAME: Develop Heggnes as an “Eco-Campus”.

DESCRIPTION
Preserve spirit and the ethos of the place and make good code of conduct or traditions that let the users se the beauty of simple living and value of nature. Let the place become a part of the Campus where thoughts of sustainability and ways to act and organize our activities as environmental friendly as possible, can be tried out.
All students should visit Heggeness while at the college.

MEASURABLE GOAL
1. Establish user rules and good routines for the place.
2. Make a separate Budget for the Heggenes.
3. Introduce Heggenes to the new students early each year
4. Keep a record of all visits by students to ensure all experience the Heggenes effect.

TIMEFRAME AND MILESTONES
1. To be presented to the College before the first planned visit.
2. To be implemented in the annual Budget process autumn 2010
3. School start 2011
4. Immediately

RESPONSIBLE PERSON
1. A group consisting of Summer Govan, Øystein Vandbakk and two students appointed by the Environmental committee.
2. Suggestion from the Environmental Committee, approved by the Finance Committee.

COSTS
50.000 NOK estimated contribution to the costs of maintaining the site.

STATUS:
Updated March 2011: Rules for use established. Committee established
Updated November 2010: Contract agreed with user. Used frequently during project weeks.
Updated September 2010: Improvements to buildings and the construction of environmental toilet. Used by Summer English Course. Staff training on site in August. Plant beds established.
